On December 16, 2004, I severed my relationship with Job Corps so I could student-teach, the last hurdle necessary for me to get a  teaching certificate.  Ironic, don't you think? I left a teaching job to go teach other kids (for free, no less) while another teacher taught my kids!

It deeply saddened me to leave, but through it all, I came away with one incontrovertible truth.  That is, if you going to be a teacher, do it all the way - or go sell shoes!  Your students need you and you will never know how rewarding the job can be if you don't.
